Fire hits Pasig hospital


A fire hit Pasig City General Hospital in Maybunga, Pasig City Wednesday morning.

The Bureau of Fire Protection-National Capital Region said the blaze started at the storage room of the hospital.

First alarm was raised at 10:33 a.m., second alarm at 11 a.m., and it was upgraded to third alarm at 11:09 a.m., the BFP-NCR said.

Super Radyo dzBB's Mark Makalalad reported that the patients have been evacuated to other parts of the hospital. 

He said according to Robert Romba of the hospital's procurement and materials management office, the storage room contains their medical supplies such as syringes, dialysis solution, formalin, alcohol, detergent powder, pillows, blankets, among others.

The fire was declared under control at 1:19 p.m. and finally put out at 3p.m., according to the BFP-NCR.

In a Twitter post, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said no one was injured in the incident.

He added that 14 patients were temporarily transferred to different medical facilities in the city.—AOL, GMA News
