San Juan City starts using Pfizer vaccine vs. COVID-19

The city government of San Juan on Wednesday started its vaccination against COVID-19 using the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine following its arrival on Monday night.

In a Facebook live, San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said 11,700 doses of Pfizer vaccine were delivered to their city, which is good for two doses for 5,850 recipients.

Aside from the Ffizer vaccine, Zamora said 12,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine have been delivered to the city as well.

The Pfizer vaccine arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 before 9 p.m. on Monday.

Officials said 68% of this initial shipment will be allocated to Metro Manila, with Cebu and Davao cities receiving 15% each. —Jamil Santos/KBK, GMA News
