Cops nab ‘plantito’ for allegedly growing marijuana in Taguig condo

Instead of the usual greenery, authorities on Friday caught a "plantito" allegedly growing marijuana in his condominium in Taguig City.

According to Jun Veneracion’s report on “24 Oras,” authorities arrested Nineraul Antonio Cisneros, a retired member of the United States Air Force, and his partner Melji Makiling during the buy-bust operation.

An informant tipped police narcotics investigators on the illegal plantation.

Meanwhile, around P2.2 million worth of marijuana was retrieved in the operation.

The suspects allegedly used high-tech devices to prevent the plants from withering.

Based on the report of the National Capital Region Police Office, the suspects supplied marijuana to dealers in Taguig, Makati, and the Calabarzon area.

Charges have been previously filed against Cisneros for selling ecstasy in 2019.

The suspects will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
