4 Gubat sa Ciudad Resort guests test positive for COVID-19

Four guests of the Gubat sa Ciudad Resort in Caloocan City tested positive for COVID-19 days after the establishment allegedly violated health protocols by operating despite a community quarantine, the local government said Monday.

In a DZBB report of Glen Juego, Caloocan City Administrator Oliver Hernandez confirmed that most of the infected guests were showing mild symptoms. One of those infected was also a minor.

Hernandez said contact tracing is being conducted for 200 other guests who went to the resort, which was supposed to be closed due to quarantine protocols.

Caloocan Mayor Oscar Malapitan ordered the closure of the controversial resort after it accommodated over 500 visitors who also violated social distancing and face mask policies.

A barangay chairman also faced an administrative complaint for gross neglect of duty or dereliction of duty over the mass gathering at the Gubat sa Ciudad Resort. — DVM, GMA News
