Delay in cash gift for Pasig seniors being investigated –Vico Sotto

The Pasig City government is investigating the delayed distribution of cash gifts for senior citizens, Mayor Vico Sotto said Monday.

In a Facebook Live video, Sotto announced the investigation after revealing that over 5,000 seniors had yet to receive the cash gifts, which were supposed to have been given Christmas last year.

"Yung cash gift ng seniors nung Pasko mayroon tayong naging problema... Siguro nasa 5,000 yung hindi pa nakatanggap dahil nagkaproblema pa talaga," Sotto said.

(Last Christmas, seniors' cash gift distribution had a problem. Around 5,000 did not receive it because there was an issue.)

"Mayroon din tayong... baka 'di ko pa pwede i-announce.. kasi may under investigation tayo diyan," the mayor also pointed out.

(We are also investigating this issue.)

Nonetheless, Sotto vowed that seniors would still receive their cash gifts amid their investigation.

"Pero sigurado naman matatanggap pa rin naman. Isama natin yung iba makakatanggap ng ayuda sa national. Subukan natin isabay. 'Yung pera nandyan naman may iniimbestigahan tayo na may sumubok na gumawa ng kalokohan," Sotto said without divulging further details.
