Video shows cop shooting 52-year-old woman in QC

A 52-year-old woman was shown in a video shot dead by a drunk police officer in Barangay Greater Fairview, Quezon City on Monday night.

The victim was identified as Lilibeth Valdez, according to a report by James Agustin on Unang Balita on Tuesday.

According to the victim's daughter, her mother was at the store when the police officer who was allegedly intoxicated approached her, pulled her hair and shot the victim in the neck.

The victim's son and the same police officer were engaged in a fistfight last May 1 and after the incident the same cop issued a threat.

The suspect, Police Master Sergeant Hensie Zinampan is currently in the custody of the police.

He is assigned at the Philippine National Police – Police Security and Protection Group and was turned over to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) in Camp Karingal.

Zinampan denied that he was the one who killed the victim even with the presence of the video showing the shooting incident.

Philippine National Police chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar said the incident is unacceptable because police should be the ones protecting the people, according to a report on Unang Balita.

Eleazar directed the Quezon City Police District to file administrative charges against Zinampan so he could be dismissed from service.

The victim's daughter meanwhile, cried for justice and said she hopes the suspect will be penalized for the crime. —BAP/KG, GMA News
