Manila tops city's vaccination record for a day; 25,668 jabbed on June 14


The Manila city government said it inoculated more than 25,000 individuals on June 14, Monday, which is its all-time record for COVID-19 vaccinations in a day.

"Data from the Manila Health Department (MHD) showed about 25,668 persons received their vaccine jabs in various vaccination sites," the Manila Public Information Office said in a statement.

The previous highest number of vaccine recipients in a day was recorded on May 29 with 21,824 individuals.

Figures from MHD also indicated that the majority of residents who received the second dose are persons with comorbidities, with 10,439.

Meanwhile, the majority of those who got their first COVID-19 jab in the locality were economic frontliners, with 10,165.

As of June 14, 354,142 individuals in Manila were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of the total, 242,977 people received their first jab while 111,165 were fully vaccinated. — DVM, GMA News
