Tempers flare at Caloocan COVID-19 vaccination site

Tempers flared at a coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination site in Caloocan City on Friday afternoon, according to Darlene Cay’s report on “State of the Nation.”

Some vaccinees at the Caloocan Central Elementary School complained that they had lined up for vaccination on Thursday but were told to go home without being informed whether their names would be taken to be prioritized.

To placate the crowd, authorities allowed senior citizens and those first in line to enter the vaccination site.

Before this, however, some residents who went in through another entrance were told to leave.

Long lines also formed because walk-ins are allowed in the city.

Meanwhile, vaccination remained orderly at the Makati Coliseum as only a small number of residents lined up for vaccination.

At the Smokey Mountain in Tondo, Manila, residents among the A5 priority group had begun to line up early in the morning.

This included jeepney driver Ramesis Banzuela.

“Proteksyon para sa akin, proteksyon para sa mga pasahero ko. Kaya importante talaga magpa-vaccine,” he said.
