The Manila city government on Tuesday registered a single-day COVID-19 vaccination record with 35,572 people in the capital city inoculated.

On Facebook, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno said the previous record was 27,642 set on June 20.

"More than 7,000 jabs po ito sa ating June 20 vaccination record!" Moreno wrote.

(This is more than 7,000 jabs from our June 20 record.)

In his Facebook Live video post, Moreno told Manileños that the best decision they will ever make is to get vaccinated as protection against a severe COVID-19 infection.

"I am happy for you because one of the best decisions that you are going to do... alam ko marami kayong decision ngayong 2021 pero ito ay isa sa pinakamagandang decision, magpabakuna sa lalong madaling panahon," he said.

(I know that you have a lot of decisions to make this 2021 but this is the best decision, to get vaccinated in the soonest possible time.)

According to Moreno, Manila has 22 vaccination centers in the city. Aside from this, Manila also offers house-to-house vaccination for bed-ridden cases.

Quezon City, the largest city in Metro Manila, also reported a single-day record with 37,234 COVID-19 vaccinations. — DVM, GMA News
