The San Juan City government on Wednesday started using Moderna vaccine doses in its vaccination program against COVID-19, the first local government to do so.

According to Mayor Francis Zamora, 900 people will benefit from the initial supply of 1,800 Moderna doses in the city.

As of Tuesday, Zamora said around 82% of the city's’ target population or 70,269 out of 85,400 have been vaccinated.

“Umaasa tayo by July 15 ay 100 percent nabakunahan na sila ng first dose (We are hoping that by July 15, 100% of the target population will already receive their first dose),” he told reporters.

The city government has been vaccinating around 3,000 people daily, according to Zamora.
