Manila starts overnight vaccination of vendors in Divisoria

The Manila government on Monday began its night vaccination to accommodate vendors and drivers in Divisoria public market.

In a statement, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said the special vaccination hours were set for workers in Divisoria who cannot go to inoculation centers due to the demands of their work.

"We included drivers, shippers, pedicab drivers, kuliglig drivers, fish vendors, meat vendors and other people who bring products in the markets," said Moreno, in Filipino.

He further said they are seeking to vaccinate the majority of workers at Divisoria night market regardless of their residency.

"COVID-19 is a universal problem. That's why our approach is inclusive. Yung mga nagtatrabaho sa Divisoria, marami sa kanila ay mga taga-Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, at Southern Luzon. (Those working in Divisoria are from other provinces.) We consider them part of our city because they work here," Domagoso said.
