QC gov’t orders closure of 3 more bars

The Quezon City government has issued temporary closure orders on three more bars in the city as it ramps up its random inspection of business establishments.

In a statement on Sunday, the city government said Task Force Disiplina and the Quezon City Police District discovered that these bars were seen operating even beyond public safety hours.

Their customers and employees were also caught violating minimum health standards, the LGU added.

The establishments were Guilly’s Island Restaurant and Bar and Karma Lounge on Tomas Morato, and Batcave Music Bar on Visayas Avenue.

“We cannot let our guard down especially with the revelation of health experts that community transmission of the Delta variant has been detected.  Vigilance and the support of QCitizens in reporting erring establishments would prevent superspreader events and the widespread transmission of COVID-19," Mayor Joy Belmonte said.

Meanwhile, the Quezon City Business Permits and Licensing Department has lifted the temporary closure order issued to En Route Distillery Bar in Tomas Morato after it complied with the conditions and protocols following its closure on July 12 for violation of safety standards and quarantine guidelines. — Ma.
