One of the 36 contacts of the three Delta variant cases in Manila has tested positive for COVID-19, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said Monday.

According to Moreno, the other 35 contacts tested negative.

"May isang nagpositibo doon sa tinrace na mga taong nakasalamuha nung dalawang taga-Maynila. Most of them, almost all, turned negative and they are healthy," said Moreno in a Facebook live video.

Moreno also clarified that only two cases were residents of Manila. He said the third case hailed from another province.

"'Yung isa taga probinsya. Dito kinuha yung kanyang specimen dito sa hospital dito sa Maynila. [He is from a province. His specimen had just come from a hospital in Manila]," said Moreno.

The Philippines has so far registered 35 Delta variant cases, with 11 local cases. Of the 35, three have died. — BM, GMA News
