UST moves first day of regular classes to August 12 due to NCR ECQ

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila announced on Sunday it will move the first day of regular classes to August 12 as the National Capital Region will be under a two-week enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) starting this week.

With the expected tougher restrictions, the university 's Office of the Secretary General said it delayed the opening of the first term to "allow stakeholders additional time to adjust to the new restrictions."

It originally planned to start the first term of Academic Year 2021-2022 on August 9.

"The opening ceremonies on August 2, 2021 will push through as scheduled," the university said on Facebook.
