PNP to strictly enforce ban on outdoor exercise in NCR

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar on Wednesday directed police offices in the National Capital Region to strictly enforce the prohibition of outdoor exercises.

In a statement, Eleazar pointed out the implementation of the stricter policy is for the welfare of the public considering new reports on many children having COVID-19.

“Ang pagbabawal sa mga outdoor activity ay desisyon ng ating mga Metro Manila mayors na kailangang ipatupad ng inyong PNP,” he said.

Earlier, the Metro Manila Council, composed of 17 NCR mayors, announced that outdoor exercises are banned during the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine until August 20.

Eleazar ordered commanders to maximize the information drive through PNP’s social media accounts and warning the public on megaphones or speaker system installed in police vehicles.

He appealed to Metro Manila residents to follow the protocols and cooperate with authorities. He also discouraged the public against complaining about and mocking the new regulation.
