NCR mayors coordinating with DICT for unified vaccination card

Metro Manila mayors are now coordinating with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) for its digital vaccine certificate project.

In a radio interview, Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez said local government units have started submitting their lists of vaccinated residents to the agency.

“Napag-usapan po namin ‘yan sa Metro Manila Council. In fact, ‘yung aming mga IT ay patuloy nagda-download na po sa DICT para sa unified vaccination card. So tuloy-tuloy po ginagawa ‘yan ng LGU dito sa Metro Manila,” he said.

(We talked about it in the Metro Manila Council. In fact, our ITs are continuously downloading [information] to the DICT for the unified vaccination card. This is ongoing for the LGUs in Metro Manila.)

Olivarez said they are seeking to finish the submission within August.

“Lahat naman po kaming LGU may system kami… I-download lang ‘yan sa DICT para ang concentration ng data para doon sa unified vaccination card,” he said.

(All the LGUs have their own systems. We just need to download them at the DICT for the concentration of the data for the unified vaccination card.)

The DICT on Thursday urged local government units in the country to submit their list of residents vaccinated against COVID-19.

DICT Secretary Gregorio “Gringo” B. Honasan II said the agency and the Department of Health are already working on the "VaxCertPH," which will be issued to fully vaccinated individuals in the country.

The Philippines has fully vaccinated over 12 million people as of August 12.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,713,302 confirmed cases have been recorded in the country as of Friday, of which 1,587,069 have recovered and 29,838 have died. —Joahna Lei Casilao/NB/KG, GMA News
