Police to look into all angles in the killing of QC salon owner —Eleazar

Investigators are looking into all angles to determine the true motive behind the killing of salon owner and journalist Gwenn Salamida, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar said Wednesday.

In a statement, Eleazar said he ordered the Quezon City Police District to conduct a thorough probe into the fatal shooting of Salamida on Tuesday.

"Lahat ng anggulo ay ating titingnan upang malaman ang tunay na motibo sa krimen at madakip ang salarin (We will look into all angles to determine the true motive behind the crime and capture the perpetrator),” he said.

Eleazar, meanwhile, extended condolences to Salamida's family and vowed that justice will be served.

“I am also directing all police offices and units to sustain anti-criminality operations and to be on alert for criminals who would take advantage of the pandemic,” he said.

“We need to ensure that the public is not only safe from coronavirus infection but also safe from lawless elements,” he said.”

Salamida was a former editor of Remate and had been working for another tabloid, Saksi Ngayon. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
