P4.2M worth of COVID-19 test kits seized, 4 online sellers arrested in Pasig — Air Force

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) said authorities confiscated P4.2 million worth of COVID-19 rapid test kits in an operation in Pasig City on Tuesday.

In a statement issued Wednesday, the PAF said its agents and Quezon City District Field Unit - Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (QCDFU-CIDG) operatives seized 21,000 Konsung Brand COVID-19 Rapid Test Kits.

Four men were arrested for allegedly selling the test kits  online, the PAF added.

They were brought to QCFDU- CIDG and will face charges for violating the FDA Act of 2009 in relation to FDA Advisory No. 2020- 016 or the Prohibition of Online Selling of FDA Certified COVID-19 Antibody Test Kits.

“Rest assured, the PAF will continue to work hand-in-hand with different government units to apprehend individuals who are illegally selling COVID-19 Rapid Test Kits,” the PAF said. — Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA News
