Isko Moreno discharged from hospital after bout with COVID-19

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has been discharged from Sta. Ana Hospital after testing positive for COVID-19 on August 15, the Manila Public Information Office said Wednesday.

“Nakalabas na ng Manila Infectious Disease Control Center ng Sta. Ana Hospital si Punong Lungsod Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso matapos gumaling mula sa sakit na COVID-19,” it said.

In a Facebook post, Moreno shared photos of him leaving the Manila Infectious Disease Control Center.

“Salamat po sa Diyos (Thanks to God),” Moreno said.

Despite being considered as recovered, Manila public information officer Julius Leonen told GMA News Online that Moreno still has to be isolated for more or less three days.

“Eleventh day ngayon ng illness ni Mayor. Fifth day na  na asymptomatic. Pero isolate muna siya for more or less three days. Tagged na siya as recovered,” Leonen said in a text message.

(This is the 11th day of the mayor’s illness. Fifth day of being asymptomatic. But, he has to be isolated in the meantime for more or less three days.)

Moreno initially reported having cough, colds, and body pain.

On August 20, Sta. Ana Hospital director Dr. Grace Padilla said in a medical bulletin that Moreno also reported loss of smell and taste.

Padilla said Moreno had mild COVID-19 symptoms. — RSJ, GMA News
