Most of COVID-19 beds in NCR isolation facilities occupied as cases continue to climb —DPWH


The majority of the COVID-19 beds in isolation facilities across the National Capital Region (NCR) are now occupied as cases continue to climb, according to data released by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

DPWH data show that 65.68% of the COVID-19 beds, equivalent to 2,503 beds in the NCR are in use, leaving 1,308 beds available across 30 isolation facilities in the region.

The Emilio Jacinto Senior High School in Quezon City currently has the highest number of available beds with 244.

The Philippines on Saturday hit an all-time high daily record of 19,441 fresh confirmed COVID-19 infections, bringing the country’s active cases to another record of 142,679.

The latest figures brought the total tally to 1,935,700 which includes 1,760,013 recoveries and 33,008 deaths. —Jon Viktor Cabuenas/KG, GMA News
