Isko Moreno lifts liquor ban in Manila

The Manila government has lifted the liquor ban in the city, Mayor Isko Moreno announced Thursday.

"Sale of liquor is now allowed under (general community quarantine) alert level 4 in the City of Manila," Moreno said in an advisory.

Last week, the government released its guidelines on the new alert level system as policies for lockdown, with the pilot run in Metro Manila starting September 16.

Under granular lockdowns, restrictions will be imposed on mobility and activities.

Metro Manila was placed under GCQ alert level 4, the second toughest alert level quarantine system, from September 16 to September 30 to curb the spread of the Delta variant in the country. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
