Still no ayuda given to those in granular lockdowns

More than 3,000 Filipino families are affected by granular lockdowns but financial aid coming from the national government has yet to be disbursed to them.

According to a "24 Oras" report by Maki Pulido, 3,093 families are living in areas that are under granular lockdown, which are classified as "critical zones" by the local government unit (LGU).

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman Benhur Abalos Jr. had asked the DSWD to give the lockdown assistance to LGUs. It was agreed that 50% of aid will come from the national government.

"Baka puwedeng ibigay sa alkalde. Ang LGU nagbibigay hindi lamang sa mga granular lockdown," Abalos said.

(I hope they can give the assistance to LGUs. LGUs are not only providing for those under granular lockdowns.)

GMA News had asked DSWD for comment on the matter but the agency did not give a reply. — Consuelo Marquez/BM, GMA News
