Two station commanders and seven police community precinct chiefs of the Quezon City Police District were relieved from their posts for failure to address illegal gambling activities in their areas of responsibility.

In a statement, QCPD director Police Brigadier General Antonio Yarra reiterated the "one- strike policy" to all his station and unit commanders who were linked or have failed to deliver results against all forms of illegal gambling as ordered by National Capital Region Police Office chief Major General Vicente Danao, Jr.

“This is to intensify our fight against illegal gambling and further intensify the sense of responsibility of current police leaders in revitalizing their effort towards unlawful gambling operations within their area of jurisdiction,” he said.

Further, he said the QCPD, in support of the Quezon City government will continue to serve the people at its best during the implementation of general community quarantine alert level 4 in the city.

Aside from deployments, security assistance and implementation of health safety protocols, the QCPD has strengthened its fight against all forms of criminality especially on anti-illegal gambling operations, Yarra said.—LDF, GMA News
