Julian Ongpin answers NBI subpoena

Julian Ongpin on Wednesday appeared before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) after he was issued a subpoena in connection with the death of artist Bree Jonson.

According to Glen Juego’s report on Super Radyo dzBB, Ongpin, son of businessman Roberto Ongpin, was accompanied by three lawyers in facing the Death Investigation Division of the NBI.

NBI spokesperson Ferdinand Lavin said Ongpin is cooperating with the investigation. Lavin also expressed his gratitude for the acknowledgment of the subpoena.

Meanwhile, he said the NBI is working on the laboratory examinations on the pieces of evidence taken from the place of the incident at a beach resort in La Union.

Lavin said the agency is also continuously taking statements from witnesses.

He refused to disclose Ongpin’s answers to their questions.

Jonson was found dead in the room she shared with Ongpin at a beach resort in La Union on September 18.

Her mother believes that she fought for her life noting the scars on Ongpin's arm.

Ongpin, meanwhile, said he got the wounds after forcibly opening the door of the restroom to free Jonson, who was allegedly trapped.

He also denied having a disagreement with Jonson on the same day she was found lifeless.—AOL, GMA News
