PNP, MMDA urge night markets, tiangges to observe health protocols


The Philippine National Police on Sunday urged owners of night markets and tiangges to strictly implement minimum health protocols amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Itong magtatayo ng ganitong mga establishment ay dapat maglagay sila ng mga facilities na magko-comply at magiging conductive para sundin o madaling sundin itong mga health protocol," PNP chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar said in a report in 24 Oras.

[those planning to put up these establishments should have facilities that comply with and are conducive to following health protocols.]

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairman Benhur Abalos, meanwhile, said the Inter-Agency Task Force will soon release guidelines regarding the operation of night markets and tiangges.

Metro Manila was downgraded to Alert Level 3 status until the end of the month.
