35 NCR areas under granular lockdown —PNP

The number of areas in the National Capital Region under granular lockdown remained at 35 as of Sunday, data from the Philippine National Police showed on Monday.

These areas are located in 33 barangays, according to the PNP.

Granular lockdown was imposed on 30 houses, three residential buildings, one purok, and one subdivision or village.

Local government units (LGUs) have the authority to impose or lift the lockdown, the PNP Public Information Office said.

The PNP has deployed 122 personnel and 101 force multipliers to the concerned areas to ensure security and adherence to minimum health standards.

Metro Manila Council (MMC) head and Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez earlier said the presence of one COVID-19 case is enough to lock down a house or a condominium floor.

To impose a lockdown along an entire street, there should be at least two COVID-19 cases.

Granular lockdowns are micro-level quarantine for areas classified as "critical zones" by the local government unit (LGU).
