Three police officers linked to the fatal shooting of a 13-year-old scavenger in Makati City last Monday finally surfaced Thursday. Chief Inspector Angelo Germinal, PO3 Robert Riñon; and PO1 Nicolas Apostol Jr. arrived at the Southern Police District office in Taguig City shortly after noon. The three had lawyers and police escorts but were not handcuffed, according to a report by radio dzBB's Rodil Vega. Earlier, the Metro Manila police ordered an intensified manhunt for the three after they failed to show up.

On Wednesday, the three were charged with murder for the fatal shooting of Christian Serrano, 13. Investigation showed the three were on patrol Monday afternoon when they saw Serrano scavenging for metal scraps in an abandoned building at the corner of Kamagong and Bagtikan Streets in Makati City. Germinal allegedly fired warning shots but one of them may have hit the boy. — KBK, GMA News
