Joseph Estrada to run for Manila mayor but for one term only
Former President Joseph Estrada will run for Manila mayor in the 2013 polls. On Twitter on Wednesday, GMA News TV reporter Sandra Aguinaldo said Estrada said he will run for mayor of Manila but for one term only. Aguinaldo quoted Estrada as saying: "Hanggang huling hininga ng buhay ko ay dito ako maglilingkod sa Maynila (Until my last breath, I will serve here in Manila)." Estrada, 75, was born in Tondo, Manila in 1937. He eventually became mayor of San Juan, and served as senator, vice president, and president. He was ousted as president in a revolt in 2001 amid charges of corruption.
