Disbarment case vs former chief justice Davide junked

The Supreme Court has dismissed with finality on Friday a case of disbarment filed by a former judge against retired Supreme Court justice Hilario Davide and nine others. Former Judge Florentino Floro of Malabon City Branch 73 had filed a case of conspiracy against Davide and nine others, including retired Supreme Court associate justice Bernardo Pardo, retired Court of Appeals Justice Pedro A. Ramirez, former solicitor general Alfredo L. Benipayo, and Ismael G. Khan, Jr., retired assistant court administrator and current Supreme Court public information office chief. Also included were lawyer Thelma C. Bahia, court management office chief; Judge Benjamin M. Aquino, Jr.; and lawyers Teresita Cruz-Sison, Mary Jane Dacarra-Buenaventura, Esmeralda Galang-Dizon, and Mario E. Ongkiko. However, the high court said in an en banc decision Floro failed to present any substantial argument to warrant a reconsideration of the SC's decision last September 20, 2006. Floro had filed the case against Davide after he had been slapped with a preventive suspension last year. He was later relieved of his post after medical tests revealed he was suffering from psychosis. - GMANews.TV
