Health offices, govt hospitals on white alert for 'Pablo'

Health offices and government hospitals on Monday went on white alert, or a state of extreme readiness, in areas likely to be affected by Typhoon Pablo (Bopha).

The Department of Health said this means personnel, medicines and equipment must always be ready at hospitals and health centers, radio dzBB's Carlo Mateo reported.

Placed on white alert were hospitals, health centers and facilities in Visayas and Mindanao, which wind and rain from Typhoon Pablo are likely to affect.

On Sunday night, Typhoon Pablo entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

At least seven areas were placed under Storm Signal No. 3 before noon Monday as Typhoon Pablo (Bopha) moved toward the Surigao provinces in Mindanao. — KG, GMA News
