Partial list of Typhoon Yolanda survivors

Social media networking sites have been flooded with desperate pleas from Filipinos everywhere looking for information about their loved ones who may be victims of Typhoon Yolanda. With telecommunications and power still down in much of the Visayas, typhoon survivors have had difficulty communicating with the outside world.   Thankfully, some volunteers and officials have managed to collect names of some survivors and transmit these to the media. GMA News reporter Jiggy Manicad collected dozens of handwritten messages from survivors during his coverage in Tacloban over the weekend. GMA News has also taken the liberty of posting photos of survivors whose faces were caught on camera by our field crews. Below is also a partial list collated by the the ground team of the Department of Social Welfare and Development–Information Communication Technology Management Service Disaster Response Augmentation Team in Tacloban. The list will be updated as more names are collected. If you have information about Typhoon Yolanda survivors, you are encouraged to input your information directly into the Typhoon Yolanda Person Finder, powered by Google. — Pia Faustino/DVM, GMA News
