Gloria Arroyo back in VMMC after medical procedure at St. Luke’s

Former President and incumbent Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo returned safely to the Veterans Memorial Medical Center on Friday afternoon after undergoing a medical procedure at St. Luke's Medical Center in Quezon City, radio dzBB's Weng Salvacion said.

Arroyo was transported in a mini coach to and from the VMMC where she is currently placed under hospital arrest.

 

According to an earlier report, the Sandiganbayan on Friday allowed Arroyo to undergo a medical procedure at the said hospital.
 

Arroyo was reportedly having difficulty urinating, thus the need for the test, the report said.

 

“Noong unang linggo ng Abril nahirapan siyang umihi, may bleeding,” lawyer Modesto Ticman Jr. told dzBB.

 

Arroyo celebrated her 67th birthday last April 5 at the VMMC where at least 50 guests were present.

 

She is suffering from recurrent dysphagia or problems in swallowing and is under hospital arrest over plunder charges.

 

She was first placed under hospital arrest in late 2011 over a separate electoral sabotage case. —Andrei Medina/KG, GMA News
