Revilla hits the road to thank supporters

Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr., in a move reminiscent of the campaign trail, has been going around Cavite to thank his supporters, a report on GMA's “24-Oras” said Saturday.

According to Revilla, he wanted to personally thank his supporters whom he said have given him strength to face the trials he is undergoing after being implicated in the pork barrel scam.

“Sila ang kinukuhanan natin ng lakas ng loob kung bakit tayong nananatiling lumalaban,” Revilla said.

He also said he is ready to face jail time and that there is no need for police to arrest him since he is willing to surrender if the Sandiganbayan issues an arrest order over graft and plunder charges filed against him.

He said that he plans to pray, study, and exercise while in jail.

Meanwhile, Revilla neither confirmed nor denied whether he has plans to run as the standard bearer for Lakas-CMD, of which he is chairman, in the 2016 presidential elections.

“Papaano tayo makakatakbo kung nakakulong tayo? Pero malay mo, for the first time nakakulong pero nanalo pa [bilang pangulo],” Revilla said.

The Commission on Elections earlier stated that Revilla along with those implicated in the pork barrel scam can still vie for public office as long as they haven't been convicted.
