Senator Miriam Santiago may go for 2016 presidential bid if... 


Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago on Wednesday said she may announce in July her official candidacy for president in the 2016 elections if her cancer goes into remission and if there is nothing better for her to do.

Her remarks came on the the heels of the senator's revelation that she has been diagnosed with stage four lung cancerThe cancer is causing difficulty in her breathing, Santiago told a news conference. 

However, she added that her cancer is not metastatic, and she is hopeful that her current medical treatment will cure the cancer within six months.
 
"When I go into remission, I might announce my candidacy for president for 2016, unless God gives me another disease," Santiago told Senate. – VS/TJD,GMA News
