Cedric Lee, Zimmer Raz leave jail on bail; Deniece Cornejo stays at CIDG

A happy Cedric Lee and Simeon "Zimmer" Raz left the Taguig City Jail shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday after posting a total of P1 million in bail for serious illegal detention charges in connection with the alleged mauling of TV host Vhong Navarro.

Lee and Raz left the jail shortly before 6 p.m., according to a report by GMA News' Jay Sabale on "24 Oras" Tuesday evening.

Both Lee and Raz posted P500,000 bail each and left the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 721 of Judge Esperanza Cortez smiling.

"I wanna thank the Lord, God is great today. Thank you," said Raz.

Their lawyer Howard Calleja maintained the two will not flee, and that they will continue to take part in court hearings.

A third accused, model Deniece Cornejo, was also allowed to post bail but remained at the Philippine National Police's Criminal Investigation and Detection Group detention facility as she had yet to meet some requirements.

The requirements include documents such as a barangay clearance.

Cornejo also had a mug shot taken as part of the requirements for her release.

While she declined to face television cameras, she said she was very happy with the development, and that she had packed up her belongings after a four-month stay at Camp Vrame.

Meanwhile, the camp of Navarro remained confident it will get justice, as it had filed a motion for consideration questioning the court decision to allow bail for the three.

Navarro's camp also lodged a motion to inhibit against Judge Cortez.

They also have as added evidence against Lee a closed-circuit television footage supposedly of what happened before the alleged mauling of Navarro. —Joel Locsin/NB, GMA News
