Sandigan allows Erap to attend JV wedding on June 9

The Sandiganbayan on Wednesday granted deposed President Joseph Estrada’s request to attend the wedding of his son, San Juan Mayor Joseph Victor ‘JV’ Ejercito on June 9. In a two-page order, the Sandiganbayan special court allowed Estrada to leave his detention place in Tanay, Rizal at 2 p.m. He will be escorted directly to the John the Baptist Parish Church on Pinaglabanan St., San Juan where the wedding ceremony will be held. After the church ceremony, Estrada will be taken to the NBC Tent in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City for the reception. Noting that the prosecution and the Police Security and Protection Office posed no objection to Estrada’s request, the court said the former President may stay on at the reception until it is over . From Fort Bonifacio, he will stay overnight with his own family in his residence at No. 1 Polk St., North Greenhills, San Juan. Estrada will be brought back to Tanay at 8 a.m. on June 10. Media interviews with Estrada is strictly forbidden unless cleared with the court beforehand. Estrada has been under detention since April 25, 2001 on a P4.1 billion plunder charge. - GMANews.TV
