UP Law wins Oxford moot court competition

The University of the Philippines are the new champions of the 2015 Oxford Price Moot Court Competition in Oxford, UK.

"We are the champion! This proves UP law's place in the truly great Universities of the world," said team coach Atty. Harry Roque. "Organizers said its the closest competition ever!"

The team bested a total of 91 countries who participated in the regional rounds held in South East Europe, Middle East, Americas, South Asia, and Asia-Pacific. In the final round, they defeated 2010 winners Singapore Management University.

UP earned the right to represent Asia, after winning in the regional rounds held at Beijing's Renmin University in 2014.

The team is comprised of team captain Gil Anthony Aquino, Apessa Chungalao, Raphael Pangalang, Pauline Gairanod, Gemmo Fernandez, and Rachel Miranda. Gairanod also won best speaker in the competition. — GMA News
