Family, friends and stars show up for Grace Poe


Senator Grace Poe's family, friends, and supporters have come to support for the lawmaker who is expected to announce her presidential candidacy on Wednesday early evening.

Poe's adoptive mother Susan Roces, her husband Teodoro Llamanzares and their children were among those spotted at the UP Bahay ng Alumni in Quezon City.

The backdrop of the stage where Poe will make her announcement was of light blue color and with posted with the words Grace Poe 2016.



Poe's entire family arrived at the venue hours before the senator is expected to make an announcement at 6 p.m.

The senator arrived at the venue at past 5 p.m.


Also seen at the event were what looked like campaign apparel such as shirts that bear Poe's name and that of her friend and political ally, Senator Francis Escudero.

Escudero will come up with his own expectedly political announcement on Thursday at the Club Filipino in San Juan.


Hours before the event started, supporters from different cities have also started to arrive in buses in their statement shirts with light blue accents while holding tarpaulins.

Celebrities such as Albert Martinez, Boots Anson-Roa, Zoren Legaspi and Carmina Villaroel were seen at Poe's event. Also there was showbiz columnist and talent manager Lolit Solis.

"Naniniwala ako sa kanyang katapatan, sa kanyang kahusayan, karunungan. Magaling ang pagpapalalaki sa kanya ng kanyang mga magulang. May katalinuhan, may puso, may integridad," Roa told GMA News Online.

Martinez also said that Poe is a good friend, "I'm putting all my bets on Grace Poe."

The senator is the only child of movie stars Roces and the late Fernando Poe Jr., who lost the 2004 presidential elections.

Also seen at the event were former Executive Secretary, current House Minority Leader, and San Juan Rep. Ronaldo Zamora, Nationalist People's Coalition spokesman and Quezon Rep. Mark Enverga, and NPC member and Valenzuela Rep. Sherwin Gatchalian.

Pasig Rep. Roman Romulo, a member of the Liberal Party, was also present with wife Shalani Soledad.

OPM band True Faith and singer Yeng Constantino also performed for the crowd.
