Bongbong talking with VP Binay, hints at announcement in coming days

Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said Wednesday that he is personally talking with Vice President Jejomar Binay in connection with the 2016 polls.

“Siya ang kausap ko, ako ang kausap nya. Although syempre yung ibang mga kasama namin nag-uusap usap din pero kami mismo ang nag-uusap so it will not get any higher,” Marcos told reporters when asked on the level of talks he was having with Binay.

Asked if there will be announcement soon, the senator said there will be soon but they are still ironing out some things.

“Mayroon pa kaming kailangang tapusin. Let me just put a clarity to it bago tayo mag-announce para sabay sabay na ang lahat ng arrangement na aming ginagawa,” he said.

“Malapit na (ang announcement pero) wala pang date.  Malapit na dahil malapit nang matapos ang usap usapan. I think we will have something already in the coming days,” he added.

On Tuesday, Marcos said he had also been speaking with the camp of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, who has figured strongly in recent presidential preference surveys despite saying that he was not going to run next year.

Binay, in a separate interview with reporters, said that he will announce soon his running mate but he refused to provide any name.

“Malapit na malapit na malapit na. Hintayin na lang natin,” he said amid the repeated questions of reporters.

Asked to describe him and his running mate, Binay said: “Tiyak na 'yun ang tandem na mananalo.” —JST, GMA News
