After threatening each other with slaps, a fistfight and even a gun duel, administration standard bearer Mar Roxas and PDP-Laban presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte have now challenged each other to a debate.
"Mayor Digong, let's level up. Our people deserve better. Itong putikan, itong kasingungalingan ay walang lugar sa ating political discourse," Roxas said earlier this week.
"This is not about you, Digong. This is not about me. This is about the lives of our people," he added.
To which, Duterte said: "I will debate with them on any matter under the sun."
Roxas on Friday welcomed Duterte's response.
"Eh, di good.... Eh, di mag-debate na kami tungkol sa saan natin dadalhin ang bansa," Roxas said when told by reporters about Duterte's response that he was ready to debate.
"Ngayon na. gawin na natin ngayon, baka magbago pa isip niya," Roxas added. —NB, GMA News
