Transgender LP bet twits Duterte for calling Roxas 'bayot'

A transgender woman who is running under the Liberal Party banner twitted Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte over his comments calling administration standard-bearer Mar Roxas "bayot" or gay.

“Kung gusto niyang maging pangulo ng ating bansa, kailangan maging pangulo siya ng lahat. At kapag sinabi mo na lahat ng mamamayan, that includes the LGBT community,” Geraldine Roman said in a report by Lei Alviz on GMA-7’s “24 Oras.”

Roman, who is running for representative of Bataan, made the comment following Duterte's tirades against Roxas. Duterte was responding to Roxas’ statement that his promise to suppress crime in three to six months is impossible

“Si Mar, bayot. 'Di niya kaya...Kaya ko kasi lalaki ako. Kundi ka lalaki, papano 'yan," Duterte said.

Roxas, for his part, had called Duterte's comments shameful.

“Digong hindi ka ba nahihiya sa kababayan natin? Binigyan kita ng facts, datos, katotohanan. Ang iyong masasagot lang ay paninira, name-calling,” Roxas said. —Trisha Macas/JST, GMA News
