Leni Robredo welcomes possible Cabinet post under Duterte admin

Leading vice presidential candidate Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo on Friday expressed willingness to join the Cabinet of presumptive president Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

“Noon pa man, sinabi na ni Cong.

Robredo earlier said she wants to help oversee the government's anti-poverty programs if she becomes vice president.

On Wednesday, Duterte’s spokesperson, Peter Laviña, confirmed that Robredo is guaranteed a seat in the next administration’s official family.

“Aside from being VP she will be offered a cabinet post,” Laviña told GMA News Online

According to Section 3, Article VII of the 1987 Philippine Constitution. The vice president “may be appointed as a Member of the Cabinet.” There is no constitutional guarantee that a spot in the Cabinet will be given. — VVP, GMA News
