Duterte’s youngest daughter Kitty prefers to stay in Davao City, but...

Just like her father, the youngest daughter of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte wants to stay in her hometown Davao City. But there may be one thing that can change her mind.

“Kung hindi ko kasama ang bestfriend ko, ayaw ko,” 12-year-old Veronica told Ian Cruz in a report on GMA-7’s “24 Oras” on Monday. The report did not identify Kitty's friend.

Her mom, Honeylet Avanceña, also agrees with Duterte’s plan not to live in Malacañang Palace during his term.

“Natanong ko iyan sa isang lawyer. Wala naman palang bawal na sinasabi sa law na kailangan kang tumira sa Malacañang,” she said.

A few hours after the elections, Avanceña told reporters that she will do her best to shield Veronica or Kitty, family and friends from the public eye. If she is to choose, she prefers that Veronica stay in Davao City.

While her Mom already accepted to take on the role as Duterte’s First Lady, what are Veronica’s plans as an incoming presidential daughter?

“Alagaan ko si Papa. Alagaan ko parents ko. And mahalin ko sila,” she said. — Trisha Macas, BAP, GMA News
