Japan's PM Abe poses doing Duterte's trademark fist gesture

President Rodrigo Duterte's signature fist gesture that he does everytime he takes photos with his supporters has reached the Prime Minister of Japan.

In a photo shared by Special Assistant to the President, Secretary Bong Go, on Facebook on Wednesday, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was seen beside Duterte and both Filipino and Japanese officials posing for a photo, doing Duterte's trademark gesture.

Duterte and Abe first met on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit in Vientiane, Laos last September. During their bilateral meeting, Abe told Duterte that he was a "rock star" in Japan before inviting him to Tokyo.

Earlier, the two leaders had an expanded bilateral meeting where they reaffirmed the strong ties of both nations.

In his statement, Duterte described Japan as Philippines' "special friend, most closer than a brother." — BAP, GMA News
