Indonesia's Jokowi arrives in Manila for state visit, ASEAN meet

Indonesian President Joko Widodo has arrived in the Philippines for a state visit ahead of the 30th ASEAN Summit.

Jokowi's plane landed at around 2:15 p.m. at the Villamor Air Base on Friday. He arrived with his wife, Indonesian First Lady Iriana Widodo.

Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea's wife Bertola Medialdea and Pasay City Mayor Antonio Calixto welcomed the Indonesian leader at the airport.

The ASEAN leader is expected to arrive in Malacañang at 3:30 p.m. for the welcome ceremony, bilateral meeting and signing ceremony with Duterte.

Duterte on Thursday said that he would raise the case of Mary Jane Veloso, a convicted overseas Filipino worker on death row in Indonesia, during a restricted meeting with the Indonesian President. — VDS, GMA News
