Duterte signs Danilo Lim’s appointment papers as MMDA chief

President Rodrigo Duterte has formalized the appointment of Former Scout Ranger commander Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim as the new chairman of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

Duterte signed Lim's appointment papers before he departed for Moscow on Monday afternoon.

Lim was a deputy commission for intelligence of the Bureau of Customs during the time of former President Benigno Aquino III, from September 2011 to July 2013.

He ran for senator in the 2010 national elections under the Liberal Party, but lost.

Lim was charged with rebellion for the November 2007 standoff at the Manila Peninsula Hotel in Makati City when he and several junior officers linked to the July 2003 Oakwood mutiny withdrew their support from former President and incumbent Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

He was also charged with mutiny for a supposed plan to grab power in February 2006. Lim was given provisional liberty by the military in May 2010.
