Aegis Juris fratman Ralph Trangia flies to the US

Ralph Caballes Trangia, an Aegis Jusris fraternity member and one of the suspects in the death of law student Horacio Tomas Castillo III, was seen on security cameras at an immigration counter in Terminal 1 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, GMA 7 news program "24 Oras" reported on Friday.

Trangia, accompanied by his mother, then boarded a flight for Chicago, Illinois during the wee hours of September 19.

Bureau of Immigration Spokesperson Attorney Tonette Mangrobang confirmed that Trangia and his mother went through immigration at 1:53 a.m. No look-out bulletin had been issued against Trangia at that time.

"At that time, the Bureau did not have any derogatory record that could have prevented or at least delayed his departure," Mangrobang explained.

Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II said that Trangia had arrived in the US. And because he fled the country, this suggested that the fraternity member was guilty.

His mother would  also face charges for playing a part in the suspect's escape. "Although hindi ka kasama sa (perpetration) ng isang mabigat na krimen, ito po ay kinanlong mo o hinarbor mo, ika po ay magiging liable din," Aguirre added.

Meanwhile, an immigration look-out bulletin order against the suspects in the Castillo killing had been expanded to 20 names. — Margaret Claire Layug/DVM, GMA News
