Some P5.5 billion in grants and donations have been provided by the Chinese government to the Philippines in a span of one year, Ambassador Zhao Jianhua said Thursday as he assured more will be coming in the future.

"China will continue to provide assistance and grants. I'm proud to say in a little bit of more one year, we were able to provide P5.5B in grants and donations to disaster relief, to the military needs including the donation to the AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines)," Zhao said in his speech during the handover of donated firearms and ammunition.

He vowed China will continue to be a sincere friend to the Philippines.

"China is a sincere friend and and sincere partner and will remain so forever," he said.
