6 SAF members hurt in Antipolo City NPA ambush


Six police commandos were wounded in an attack by suspected members of the New People's Army (NPA) in Antipolo City early Sunday.

A Super Radyo dzBB report identified the six wounded policemen as Police Officers 2 Brendo Cariño, Reymar Guevarra, Mark Andrew, Gran Omines, Joseph Alberca and Ryan Gonzales, members of the 33rd Special Action Company.

The wounded policemen were rushed to the Antipolo District Hospital and Amang Rodriguez Hospital.

Two more police commandos, who were earlier reported missing, have been accounted for.

The police commandos were patrolling in Barangay San Jose when they encountered an undetermined number of NPA members.

Pursuit operations are ongoing and checkpoints were set up in the city against the fleeing rebels. —LBG/ALG, GMA News
