Election period, gun ban end on Monday, May 21, 2018 —Comelec


The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Monday announced the end of the election period for the barangay and sangguniang Kabataan (SK) polls.

In a statement, the poll body the ban on carrying and transporting firearms and other weapons would be lifted by 12 midnight.

The same will go for the engagement of services of security personnel or bodyguards.

"Comelec checkpoints likewise cease operations at 12 midnight," Comelec said.

The Comelec also reminded all individuals who have filed a certificate of candidacy (COC) to file their Statement of Contributions and Expenses (SOCE) on or before June 13 or 30 days after the election day.

The SOCE forms are available in the website of Comelec.

The Comelec said its field officials had delivered the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) cash cards to the teachers who provided services during the May 14 polls.

Cash card help desks were also created for easy and efficient distribution of payment.
